Shirley M. Ponik, 87, a resident of Belgium Gardens, Belgium, WI and formerly of Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Shirley was born on January 23, 1938 in Menomonee Falls, WI to Issac and Evelyn May (Joyce) Sheldon. She was married to Robert Ponik on October 9, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. Shirley enjoyed playing cards with her family especially Sheepshead and cribbage. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Praise Assembly of God Church in Beaver Dam. Shirley had a heart to serve the Lord and raised her family to have faith in God. She continued to encourage her family and friends in the Lord throughout her entire life.
Shirley is survived by her daughters: Debra (Robert) Langenfeld of West Bend, Sherry Moegenberg of Fond du Lac, and Tammy (James) Gatton of Oak Creek; her sons: Rick (Connie) Larson of Menomonee Falls and Randal Larson of Beaver Dam; former daughter-in-law Leah (Dan) Wolf of Greenfield; grandchildren: Kristy (Ryan) Vorwerk, Bob (Jessica) Larson, Heather (Ben) Lucas, James (Jessica) Gatton, Jeremy Moegenberg, Brandon (Emily) Gatton, Nicole (David) Hakola, Thomas (Ashley) Gatton, Erin Langenfeld, Amanda (David) Walker, and Deontre Gatton; many great grandchildren; her sister June Volgman of Wauwatosa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 2015; former husband Marvin Larson; and five brothers: Ernest Joyce, Robert Edgerton, Gerald Davison, James Davison, and Donald Davison.
A memorial gathering will be held at Praise Assembly of God Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Pastor Randal Carey will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Southern WI Veterans Cemetery, Union Grove, WI at a later date.
