Stanley Wilbert Wolter, age 82, of Mayville, a cherished individual known for his kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality, left us on Monday, October 28, 2024, and went to his heavenly home. Stan lived a life filled with a passion for hunting, fishing, spending time at his place up north, ATV riding, and snowmobiling.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation for Stanley will be held at church on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
Stanley was born on March 8, 1942, to Reinhard and Julia (nee Wasko) Wolter of Mayville. He married Sharon Giese on August 29, 1964, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.
Stanley proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years and the Army Reserves for 4 years. During this time, he started his 40-year career at Mayville Engineering Company as the sixth employee there. He was very proud of that. He started as a welder and moved on to the Quality Department and then the head of Quality. From there, he went on to be the second shift plant manager. The quality run charts that he created while he was in quality are still being used today.
Stan is survived by his wife Sharon; his 2 daughters Stacey (Chad) Hansen and Stefanie (Dean) Straveler; and 3 grandchildren: Tanner Hansen, Megan Straveler, and Lindsey Straveler. He was further survived by other relatives and friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Elizabeth “Bettie” Gerke, Dolores Krueger, and Beverly Geschke; and his brothers: Reinhard Wolter II and Edward Wolter.
The Lord has called Stan to join him along with his brothers, sisters, and friends. He was an outstanding man, wonderful father, grandfather, and husband. He left us with endless knowledge and wisdom. “Don’t be sad when I’m gone because I’ve had a good life.”- Stanley Wolter
