Steve A Pocius passed unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by family and friends on November 8th of 2022. Steve was a devoted outdoorsman. He was an avid hunter and trapper. Spending time at his cabin for hunting season was his favorite time of year. He was a trappers education instructor for the state of Wisconsin and spent many weekends teaching others about his passion. He was most likely found outside tending his garden or chickens during summer. Steve also loved spending time with his friends and family, allocating more time for them than for himself– especially during bear season with his best friend Wes. He had a dedication for others even if they were strangers which correlates to the fact that he had a huge heart. He spent the majority of his working years as a working supervisor at General ThermoDynamics but had recently joined the Brandon Meats family as a butcher apprentice in order to better help his family.
My dad was the rock of all those he encountered. A person to turn to when needed most, a man with integrity, compassion, and a zest for life many others don’t obtain. He was the type of man all others wish to be. The best daddy to his daughter Abby and the greatest husband to the love of his life Tammy. He spent his life teaching others the wisdom he had in order to pass his time and help others in the process.
Steve is survived by his wife, Tammy Pocius of Waupun; his daughter, Abigail Pocius of Waupun; his parents, Douglas and Connie Pocius of Fox Lake; his sister and brother, Valarie Pocius (Kurt Bush) of Fox Lake and Tony Pocius of Markesan; his dogs, Aza, Hairbear, Duck, and Onyx; aunts, uncles, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
