Steven M. Roedl, age 69, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully in his sleep and went into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
The memorial gathering will be at Harvest Ev. Free Church in Beaver Dam, where Steve was a founding member, on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at the church on Thursday and inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #146.
Steven Mark was born on November 26, 1953 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Jack and Sylvia (Dams) Roedl. He was united in marriage with Teresa Rennock on March 18, 1978. Steven worked as a fork lift operator at John Deere until his retirement. He was fondly known as uncle Stevie to all his special nieces and nephews, and as the candy man to all the young children at church. Steven cared a great deal for all of mankind. He often would open up his home to help others, even in times that life was a struggle for himself. He was a Chili John’s patron and would help the staff if business got busy while he was there. He always had a western on the television or was watching a Lone Ranger or MASH episode.
Steven is survived by his siblings, Jeff (Debbie) Roedl, Karen (Doug) Prescher and Troy (Stacey) Roedl; Teresa’s siblings, Mike Rennock, Kevin (Debby) Rennock, Bonnie (Dudley) Robertson, and Roxanne (Greg) Miller; nieces and nephews, George, Bonnie, Billy, and Tiger, Stacy, Crystal and Beth, Sydney and Sawyer, Zoe and Emma, Michael, Benedict and Anna, Blaire (Felix), Morgan and Connor, Nicholas (Caitlin) and Christopher; great niece, Avery; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce; and his wife in 2021.

My Deepest Sympathy. I grew up two doors away from the Roedl family. From the age of 4 on I was a very regular guest of that lovely home and family. My partner in crime, Karen and I caused a good deal of headaches for both sets of parents. Steve was quiet and kind and always beyond polite. His wife Theresa and I were class mates for many years.. I remember going as their guest to Bible Baptist church across from the high school. Theresa and her family were always there. It was meant to be that these two kind and compassionate souls would marry and share a life together. Years later Steve's Mom who was my Mom's neighbor on Beaver Street became my Mom's neighbor at South Hills, 2 doors down and then at Prairie Ridge directly across the hall. They were neighbors for life and passed only a month apart.
I would see Steve and Theresa there and it was always a happy reunion. Heaven is celebrating this week as Theresa welcomed her beloved husband back into her arms. While it's sad for those left behind here on earth, Steve and Theresa are happier than they have been in 2 full years. Rest well my classmate and neighbor. You are both where you belong , together with your Lord and Savior.
