Thomas Perry Doughty, age 80, of Kewaskum, was brought into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon.
A Funeral Service for Tom will take place on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation for Tom will be held at church on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
Tom was born on September 16, 1945, to Lyle and Esther (Schwertfeger) Doughty. Tom was a 1963 graduate of Horicon High School. He then graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1967 and the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1970. In 1973, he graduated from Harvard Business School.
Tom was united in marriage to Shirley Johnson on April 12, 2002, at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon, where they also were members.
Tom practiced law in Horicon with Fredrick R. Schwertfeger and later went on to work for Bank of America for 20 years.
Tom is survived by his wife Shirley Doughty; his sisters: Mary Doughty and Patricia Shabaz; 3 sisters-in-law: Marlene Marsch, Judy Thompson, and Jan Johnson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials in Tom’s memory may be directed to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon and St. Judes Children Hospital.

Tom was a close and true friend for many years. We shared many interests and he was always fun, constructive and brilliant. My sons always enjoyed his company (he was known to them as "Big" Tom). He will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Shirley.

Tom was a dear friend. We met at Harvard Business School and we worked together for 2 years at Bank of America's Chicago office. He was Godfather to our youngest daughter. Over the years we spoke frequently by phone, especially during football season. His deep faith sustained him during his illness and he did not fear death. I greatly miss him. Condolences to Shirley.
