Timothy I. Bacon

Timothy I. Bacon, 78, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Randolph Health Services.

Tim was born on October 28, 1946, in Libertyville, IL, to Glenn and Daisy (Parsons) Bacon. He graduated from Wauconda High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. On February 9, 1974, he married Claudette Medford in Wauconda, IL.

A lifelong dairy farmer, Tim took great pride in seeing his son, Ed, and his wife, Julie, carry on the family farm. Over the years, he enjoyed bowling in leagues and playing in the summer farm baseball league. Tim was also an active member of the Columbus American Legion.

Tim is survived by his wife, Claudette, of Columbus; his children, Edmund (Julie) Bacon of Columbus and Amanda (Jeff) Olson of Montello; his grandchildren, Thomas Olson and Jolie Bacon; his two sisters, Gwen Rubis and Pam (Mike) Huss; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul Bacon.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus, with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association.
