Timothy J. Welak

February 23, 1958 - May 5, 2025

Timothy (Tim, Peanut) J. Welak, age 67, of Horicon passed away with his loving family by his side on May 5, 2025, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Tim’s life will take place on a later date.

Tim was born on February 23, 1958, in Beaver Dam to James and Elinore (nee Serwe) Welak. He attended St. Mary grade school and graduated from Mayville High School in 1976.
He started working at the age of 14 for WW Builders. He later retired from Metal Craft of Mayville after 36 years.

Tim was a family man and looked forward to anytime when they could be together. Growing up, he supported his girls and even coached their basketball team. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and loved to take the time to watch them at their sporting and school activities.

Tim was a true Wisconsinite and loved the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Milwaukee Brewers. When he wasn’t cheering on his favorite teams, Tim could be found pontooning on Lake Sinissippi and the Rock River.

Tim is survived by his wife Patricia “Patti”; his 3 daughters Jennifer (Mitch) Matuszeski, Heather (Blake II) Tonn, and Ashley (Becki Herbst) Welak; his eight grandchildren: Molly, Maddie, and Maverick Matuszeski, Taylor (Zach) Beekman, Lauren, Blake III, Jaxon Tonn, and Morgan Bronk; sisters Arlitt Del Ponte, Kathleen “Kate” (Keith) Sieve; brother Dennis (Kim) Welak; brother and sister-in-law: Bob (Sandi) Clement. Tim is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Wayne Del Ponte.

Many happy memories going to the pool on hot summer days. Deepest condolences to the family.

We both extend our deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of Tim. He will surely be missed by all .Jessie says she will remember doing line drills at her wedding & Jake says Peanut was the best picker upper from school! Many many happy memories.

I am so sorry for the families loss. I remember so many good St. Mary's times. The Welak family is in my thoughts and prayers.
