Victor O. Dickinson, Sr., age 88, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Winchester Place in Horicon.

Friends may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Mark J. Molldrem will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin where military honors will be conducted.

Victor Oscar Dickinson was born on May 20, 1921 in the Town of Chester, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late Clyde and Margaret (Schellpheffer) Dickinson. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II in the Yukon Territories, where he met the love of his life. On April 25, 1945, he was united in marriage with Clara Stephanie Frain, originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. A life-long resident of the Burnett and Beaver Dam areas, Victor owned and operated the Clover Farm Store in Burnett for four years, then moved to Beaver Dam in 1955. He worked at Dairyland in Juneau for 16 years and then at John Deere Horicon Works for 20 years. When he was younger, Victor played in a number of fast-pitch baseball leagues. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life and he loved to play cards, especially Sheepshead. Victor was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and the Schoenwetter-Frase VFW Post # 9392 in Lowell.

Survivors include his three children, Sandra (John) Mustain of Peculiar, MO, Glen (Kim) Dickinson of Beaver Dam, and Victor (Cindy) Dickinson, Jr. of Horicon, six grandchildren, Jay Mustain of Raymore, MO, Joshua Mustain of Peculiar, MO, Garret (Jenny) Dickinson of Sun Prairie, Matthew (Cheryl) Dickinson of Beaver Dam, and Amanda and Shaun Dickinson of Horicon, two great grandchildren, Rylee and Kaelyn Dickinson, his sister, Joy Mengel of Wautoma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years, Clara, and his sister, Ruth Mason.
