IRON RIDGE – Victor Albert Westphal, 83, 505 Herman St., Iron Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. from St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge. The Rev. Larry Mose will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Iron Ridge. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.
Victor was born on Oct. 4, 1925, son of Edwin and Viola (Luedke) Westphal in the town of Herman. On Oct. 9, 1948 he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Horst at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford.
He was a retired town of Herman farmer and a lifelong member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge; an active member of St. Matthew Choir, a former member of the Woodland Fire Department. Vic enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his children, Kathryn (Byron) Foster, Elm Grove, Christine (James) Wagner, Hartford, and Bonnie (Jeff) Miller, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Matthew Foster, Nicholas (Molly) Wagner, Julia Wagner, Allison Miller and Adrienne Miller; one great-grandchild, Stihl; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Phyllis Berndt.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Help at Home; Bonnie, Judy, MaryJo, Jackie, Tina and Helen. Because of their care and compassion, as well as that of Vic’s niece Linda, we were able to honor his wishes to the end.
