Victoria A. Schleicher

September 1, 1926 - July 29, 2006

Victoria Schleicher, age 79, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at UW Hospital in Madison.
Visitation for Victoria will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The rosary will be prayed at 8:00 PM. Friends may also call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 835 Madison Street, on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael Hammer will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin
The former Victoria Rake was born on September 1, 1926 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Jacob and Rose (Brefka) Rake. On May 29, 1951, she was united in marriage with Clarence Schleicher in Beaver Dam. Victoria was a resident of Beaver Dam for many years and she also lived in Columbus for 14 years. Together with her husband, they farmed for 25 years in both Columbus and Beaver Dam. She worked as a cook at the Catholic Schools in Beaver Dam for 17 years. In retirement , Victoria and Clarence enjoyed traveling and camping. Victoria loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being with them. As she got older, she also became a sports fan. She particularly enjoyed Packer and Badger football and Brewer baseball. Victoria was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and had been a member of the St. Michael”s Rosary Society.
Survivors include seven children, Norbert (Vickie) Schleicher of Plymouth, Brian Schleicher of Beaver Dam, Russell (Karen) Schleicher of Wausau, Gloria (Tom) Gregor of Holmen, Ione (Philip) Hausler of Stevens Point, Phillip Schleicher (Steve Schumacher) of Madison, and Janis (Brian) Neevel of Friendship, 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandsons, Benjamin Neevel and Kurt Schleicher, and her brother, Jacob Rake.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Victoria Schleicher”s name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.
