Virginia Lea was born on February 26, 1953, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to George and Ruth (Meyer) Bromberek. She graduated from Beaver Dam High school in 1971, and married Keith Glasgow in 1973. The couple spent the next 51 years together in Beaver Dam, raising 5 children who blessed them with 20 grandchildren, and working together with her husband in their mom & pop photography business.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Glasgow; five children, Elizabeth (Steven) Luedtke, Kate (Chad) Olsen, Ellie (Peter) Frey, Timothy Glasgow, and Samuel Glasgow; 20 grandchildren, Abraham, Abbey, Evelyn, Sadie, Simeon Pio, Eden, Miriam, Issac, Lilly, Oliver, Henry, Adeline, Hazel, Caleb, Elijah, Madelyne, Leah, Cameron, Cecilia, and Peter; six brothers and sisters, Linda Lister, John Bromberek, Georgia (Michael) Smith, Janet La Martina, Mary Bromberek, and Mark (Theresa) Bromberek; other relatives and friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents.
Ginny packed a lot of love, life and selfless service into her 71 years on earth. She loved her family fiercely, but with a kind and gentle demeanor that always extended outward to others. She home- schooled all her children well before it became a popular alternative, teaching them the value and blessing of work, how to serve, and most importantly, how to love the Lord. Like the woman in Proverbs 31, “…she watched over the ways of her household, and did not eat of the bread of idleness”. They say the proof is in the pudding. Each of her beloved children exhibit aspects of her love and character as they raise their families, and press forward in life. She made good pudding.
Before the age of 21, she caught the spark of the pro-life movement. In addition to volunteering with Wisconsin Right to Life, and Pro-Life Wisconsin for a number of years, she joined a steering committee to bring the Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County into existence. She worked tirelessly with many dedicated people to bring the ministry to life. She studied to become a volunteer counselor, and worked with many young pregnant women in challenging situations, helping them learn the enormous privilege and joy of becoming mothers.
Those of us left behind miss her terribly, but each of us are so proud of the woman she was, the good she accomplished, and the lives she touched. Faith was her motivating force. She was very active in parish life at St. Katharine Drexel. We can envision our Savior greeting her in Paradise – “Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.” Farewell dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. You will live on in our hearts and precious memories until we meet again.
If desired, memorials may be made to Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of her family caregivers, Shayla at Marshfield home care, the wonderful people at Bristol Hospice, Stacey at Charleston House, caretaker and new friend Laura. A very special thank you to dear friend Hettie Hankes, for her many hours by Ginny’s side providing love, comfort and prayers throughout her last days and hours.
