Virginia “Ginny” Boerger, age 90, of Juneau, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Horicon, on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael Petrie officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
The former Virginia Marie Goedderz was born on September 13, 1918, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to John and Theresa (Kettner) Goedderz. She was a 1936 graduate from Fond du Lac High School. After graduation, Virginia moved to Milwaukee and worked as a charge caller for the Boston Store. In 1939, she was united in marriage with Norman Boerger at St. Anne”s Church in Milwaukee. Virginia later worked at Ideals Publishing Co. in accounting for 15 years. In 1957, she was a domestic engineer and secretary for Rev. William J. Zelly. Virginia retired in 1986. She was involved with the Milwaukee and Juneau Lyon”s Group and the Christian Mothers Society. Virginia was a Girl Scout leader in Milwaukee and a promoter of the Apostleship of Prayer and League of the Sacred Heart. She was also a member of the 50”s Club of St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Virginia is survived by her son, Robert J. (Kathleen) Boerger of Delafield, grandchildren, Michelle (David) Neira and Leslie Boerger, great grandchildren, Alexandra, Miranda, Quinn, Abby, and Mitchell, sister, Mary May of Appleton, sister”s-in-law, Arlene Goedderz, Leona Goedderz, and Jean Goedderz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman Boerger, five brothers, Albert, John, Eugene, Jerome, and Gerald Goedderz, sister, Evelyn Goedderz, grandson, Jeffrey Boerger, sister-in-law, Delores Goedderz, and a brother-in-law, Robert May.
A special “thank you” to Dr. Amy Muchow and the nurses and staff at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and to the Dodge County Human Services Department.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Virginia M. Boerger”s name to St. Agnes Hospice Hope of Fond du Lac or to the Sacred Heart Parish Christian Mother”s Society.
