There will be a memorial gathering at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow on at church on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan Loescher officiating.
On March 2nd, 1923, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin the Lord blessed Walter and Mamie Strassburg with a gift of the first of their three sons, Warren Richard Strassburg. Shortly after, Warren was received into the family of God through the washing of Holy Baptism at First Lutheran Church.
Walter and Mamie farmed just outside of Beaver Dam where Warren grew up with his brothers Elmer and Fritz. Warren was confirmed at First Lutheran Church. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1942.
Shortly after high school, he started dating Alice Stegner. They were married on August 20, 1947, at First Lutheran Church and purchased a farm near Watertown, WI. Here they enjoyed the Lord’s blessing of 3 boys: Randall, Michael, and Steven. Randall preceded Warren in death and is now enjoying his company. After farming for a few years, Warren went into the implement business and started Strassburg Brothers Implement with his brother Elmer in Hustisford, WI. The business ran continuously for 45 years until Warren’s retirement in 2000.
After moving off the farm to Hustisford, Warren and Alice joined Bethany Lutheran Church where Warren used his God-given abilities to serve on various committees and boards. He was also involved in many community activities including the village board, the fire department, and the Lion’s Club.
The Lord blessed his time here on this earth for just over 100 years. Warren and Alice have been married for over 76 years. They have enjoyed their travels around this country and through Europe. He was once even able to visit the home city of his father, Walter, in Germany on one of their many trips. The couple enjoyed going to Polka dances and playing cards with their friends. He was a member of Rock River Hills Golf Club until his knees decided it was time to stop. They have been able to split their time between their homes in Hustisford, Wisconsin and Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Lord called Warren home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mamie; brothers Elmer and Fritz; and son Randall.
