Services: The Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146 to meet at 7:45 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home to pay their respects. To conclude the evening, Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146.
Visitation: Visiting hours will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on April 21 at the Koepsell Funeral Home, 109 Lincoln Ave., Beaver Dam, WI.
William Bill Carl Kilgus, 60, passed away at his home this past week.
He was born in Portage, WI on Febuary 12, 1950 and was raised in Madison , WI and Jackson Heights, NY prior to moving to Gales Ferry, CT. in 1962. He graduated from Ledyard High School in 1968. Mr. Kilgus was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the Navy aboard the USS Perry, DD 844 off the coast of Viet Nam between 1969 and 1972. He joined Wisconsin Power and Light at Beaver Dam, WI about 1975 and retired from there in about 2005.
Bill enjoyed NASCAR racing, automotive mechanics and carpentry. He particularly enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500 races and meeting the drivers in the pit areas. He was active in the American Legion, Post 146, Beaver Dam and the Meals on Wheels program, donating his time and talents to both of those organizations.
He leaves behind his constant companion, his lovable dog Raskel. In addition, he leaves his father, Fred Kilgus of Gales Ferry, two brothers, Michael Dean Kilgus and Robert John Kilgus of Gales Ferry, and a sister, Helen King of Fairfield, ME . His mother, Betty Ann (Pafford) Kilgus predeceased him in November of 2008.
Visiting hours will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on April 21 at the Koepsell Funeral Home, 109 Lincoln Ave., Beaver Dam, WI. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146 to meet at 7:45 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home to pay their respects. To conclude the evening, Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146.
