William G. Seitz, age 78, died at Columbus Health & Rehab Center on Sunday, August 10, 2025, following a short battle with glioblastoma, brain cancer.
There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
William Gary Seitz was born on November 17, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois to the late William H. and Dorothy E. (Smith) Seitz. After moving to Beaver Dam in 1959, Bill attended Beaver Dam High School and graduated in 1964. He served in the United States Army in Europe during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. On October 29, 1971, he was united in marriage with Linda Roedl at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Bill owned and operated Wisconsin Temperature Control in Beaver Dam for many years. Bill loved being outdoors and even enjoyed camping when he was younger. He also loved racing and spent countless nights at the local tracks. He was proud that his son Steve raced and he was Steve’s biggest supporter, although Bill supported all the local racers. Bill typically started each day enjoying some coffee and conversation at McDonald’s with the coffee clutch group. When Bill could no longer attend, many of them came to visit him – and he truly appreciated that.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Seitz of Beaver Dam; two children, Steve (Julie) Seitz of Beaver Dam and Nicole Seitz of Monroe; two grandchildren, Allison Seitz (Nick Logan) and Ethan Seitz; four siblings, Sandi Woodard of Springfield, IL, Deann (Chuck) Neitzel of Fox Lake, Doug (Catherine) Seitz of Baraboo, and Cathy (Rick) Quiring of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tiffany Seitz, in 2002; and two sisters, Gayle Seitz, and Debbie Miller.
The family would like to thank the staffs at the VA Hospital in Madison, Rainbow Hospice, and the Columbus Health & Rehab Center.
