Yvonne Straseskie

Yvonne “Bonny” Straseskie, age 89, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Sylvan Crossings. The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Randy Wells officiating. Inurnment with be at St. Michael Cemetery. Yvonne Ryan was born on March 27, 1929 to George E. and Florence (Baysinger) Ryan in Lodi, Wisconsin. She graduated from Topeka Kansas High School and went on to receive a nursing degree from Norwegian American Hospital for Nursing. On April 1, 1950, Yvonne was united in marriage with Verlyn Straseskie in Lavern, Minnesota. She worked for Dr. George D. Drescker for 26 years, then worked at Hillside Hospital in Beaver Dam as a 3rd floor nurse for 10 years. Yvonne was the employee health nurse for 15 years at Pillsbury Green Giant. She was a longtime member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and served as past treasurer of the St. Michael’s Mothers Club as well as past president of the Dodge County Medical Assistance Society. Yvonne is survived by her son, John (Barbara) Straseskie of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; friends, Kenneth and Mary Stange of Beaver Dam, David Preston of Fort Meyer, FL, and Kit Strickler of Dell City, OK; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Mark Straseskie, Sr; and grandsons, Kirk Straseskie and Mark Straseskie, Jr.
